How it all Began

Pure Joy

the night of the proposal

Both Kristina and Nathan were attending Light Church in Encinitas when they met. If anyone knows Tina, you’ll know that she did not attend a volleyball group put on by the church to only learn a new sport. Nate on the other hand had more pure intentions (maybe). All thanks to Nick Lung (hit him up at the wedding) starting an unconventional small group and ‘setting’ the table for love. Both of them couldn’t take their eyes off each other after that first (slightly long thanks to Tina) high-five after a good play. After Tina checked in with Shannon (Nate’s fantastic sister) to make sure Nate wasn’t a serial killer, there was nothing else to do but fall in love. Shortly after that conversation, a week came up where Shannon was not going to go to volleyball with Nate. Tina knew that if he showed up, then he truly either wanted to be with her or he liked volleyball way too much. Sure enough, Nate showed that day and immediately jumped at the idea to go for a cool-down swim in the ocean. We ended up at Beacons Beach and watched the sun go down in the ocean together (little did Tina know how afraid Nate was of sharks at this point). They ended up going back to that spot again and again, throughout the course of dating and then finally on the night that Nathan proposed.

And the rest is history

If you scrolled this far, please enjoy the (slightly rough) photos of us at volleyball and some great memories at Beacons (including that first swim)
